The iPhone 15 might still be far out in the future, but Apple is preparing for big changes and we are already seeing substantial leaks and rumors.
So what will be new in the iPhone 15 and when is it coming? The iPhone 15 family is expected to come in the fall of 2023 and feature four models, just like the iPhone 14 before it. Some slight design changes are expected, but the bigger changes will be on the inside. As a quick summary, we expect the following: first and cheapest, a 6.1-inch iPhone 15 as the starter model, then a larger 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus with a bigger battery, and then again a 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro with a faster chip, better cameras and other advanced feature, and the most expensive in the bunch, the large and powerful iPhone 15 Ultra. The latter model as you can see has a brand new name. Apple used to have the iPhone Pro Max name, but now the Ultra name is meant to convince users how this new model receives bigger upgrades than in previous years.
It is practically confirmed that all four models will also come with a new USB-C type connector that will replace the Lightning port that Apple has been using for nearly a decade. That happens to be the same connector most other gadgets in the world use these days, so it might actually help reduce clutter in your drawer. Add another curious design change too: it's possible that Apple replaces the physical volume and power buttons with haptic buttons, like that Touch ID button on the iPhone 7/8 series!
